We acted for the wife/petitioner in complex matrimonial proceedings involving significant assets and multi-jurisdictional issues.
We made a successful application in the Royal Court for an order that parallel foreign proceedings commenced by the husband/respondent be discontinued (addressed at the respondent, not the foreign court), on the basis that Jersey was the forum conveniens and the (threatened) conduct of the respondent in pursuing parallel proceedings abroad was unconscionable, i.e. oppressive, vexatious or interfered with due process.
